There is only one international airport found adjacent to the east coast historic port city of Veracruz in Mexico. The official airport name is the Veracruz General Heriberto Jara International Airport. However, it is usually referred to as the Las Bajadas Airport. The 3 letter airport code is VER.
With only two runways, you would be right in assuming that the terminal area is relatively small and easy to navigate. After your arrival and upon entering the terminal lobby, directly to your left will be the car rental counters, the taxi ticket counter, and the ADO bus ticket counter. Remember, the vast majority (if not all) of the workers at these counters will only know their native language - Spanish. In the lobby, you will also find a small café where you can purchase a snack and something to drink, a gift shop, and of course, the airline ticket counters. Upstairs, there is a full-sized restaurant if you arrived on "empty."

Taxis - You will need pesos to buy a ticket for securing a taxi ride into Veracruz or wherever you may be going. Credit cards are also not accepted for a taxi ride. Go to the taxi ticket counter and tell them where you want to go. The Veracruz area is divided up into geographic zones and so you will pay based on which zone you want to go to. Take your paid ticket and go out the front door where you will be directed to the next available taxi. Speaking of taxis service, in Veracruz and in all of Mexico, it is not customary to tip a taxi driver. Don't worry, they are not expecting one.
Public Buses - Currently, there are no public buses which service travelers at the airport. The bigger resort hotels in Veracruz and Boca del Rio also do not have shuttle bus services. If you will be traveling to other parts of Mexico by public buses, you may want to check the bus schedule at the ADO ticket bus counter. For a small surcharge, you can avoid the ticket line at the main Veracruz Bus Station and purchase your tickets right at the airport. You will then have to take a taxi to the Veracruz Bus Station.
